Important meeting between Canadian Home Inspection Leaders yields consensus

On March 6, over 20 home inspection industry leaders representing home inspection associations, Canadian home inspection franchisors and home inspector networks met at the Holiday Inn Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre in Burlington. The industry stakeholders discussed subjects pertinent to Canadian home inspectors including the proposed Canadian Standards Association A770 home inspection standard and the importance of cooperation between associations for the mutual benefit of the profession and the public.

The March 6 meeting brought together Canada’s foremost home inspection authorities in the interest of reaching an accord on the CSA A770 proposed standard that stands to have a profound impact on the home inspection profession. Follow this blog for more information.

Spring is here…have you had your water checked?

Health and Safety Tip: Drinking water that has harmful bacteria in it can make you sick.

It is a change of season and those on private well systems are encouraged to test their drinking water. Testing for bacteria is done FREE of charge. The Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit provides information on free water testing.

There are several convenient locations for picking up water sampling bottles, with directions, and drop off times and places for testing. For example bottles can be picked up at the Minden Hills Library and dropped off for testing between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  See below for more information.
